Immerse yourself in la bella Italia with Food & Wine Trails’ second Sommelier Insiders Wine Cruise.  Join wine writer and expert Italian guide, Filippo Magnani, in his homeland of Italy for an unforgettable journey with a unique insider’s view of the country’s fine wine, food and culture.

Filippo hand-picked this itinerary because each place you visit has a special meaning to him that he is excited to share with you.  He has traveled extensively along the Italian Riviera and was captivated by its natural beauty, delicious seafood and local hospitality.  He is also excited to welcome you to his village in Tuscany for an intimate experience with the local people, food and wine.  Filippo has family on the island of Elba where he spends his summers.  Here you will tour his favorit spots.  One of Filippo’s favorite wines is Cannonau, a type of Grenache made in Sardinia.  Along with their Vermintino, these Sardinian wines are some of the most sought after in the Mediterranean.

You’ll be in excellent hands with Fillippo as your host aboard  Azamara’s newest ship, the intimate 702-guest Pursuit from Nice’s colorful buildings and towering palm trees, towards Santa Margherita‘s stunning castle and  and scenic palace.  You’ll appreciate the extra time to explore with late night departures from Portovenere and Portoferraio plus an overnight in Livorno, gateway to Florence’s classics and Pisa’s famous learning tower.  Discover Olbia‘s medieval San Simplicio basilica before ending your intensive Italian journey in the Eternal City of Rome.

YOUR HOME AT SEA
Azamara ships are not too big (you never feel lost). And they’re not too small (you won’t run out of new things to do and new people to meet). Azamara Pursuit guest capacity at just 702 is the perfect mid-sized ship. You’ll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the staff and crew get to know you. The smaller size of the ship also offers the big advantage of being able to sail to places larger cruise lines cannot.

Aboard Azamara Pursuit a muted color palette of earth tones is incorporated throughout, to evoke a serene, elegant and warm sense of home. Re-imagines staterooms include modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. Plus the ship features a large number of staterooms and suites with verandas, perfect for starting your day with fresh sea air and stunning views. Add world-class dining options, spa experiences to relax and refresh, and all-new entertainment offerings, you’ve got an onboard experience that’s matched only by immersive cultural encounters on shore.
