Join Lloyd Davis, owner of Corner 103 for the ultimate “bucket list” adventure – South Africa!
Begin with Food & Wine Trails optional pre-cruise land programs to Victoria Falls for 2 nights and a true African Safari for 3 nights, curated exclusively for Corner 103 guests. Depending on your budget and time constraints, choose both land programs, or just one land program or simply fly directly to the Azamara Journey in Cape Town for a 12-night South Africa Wine Cruise, the choice is yours!
Embark the intimate Azamara Journey in Cape Town, tucked beneath Table Mountain before setting sail along South Africa’s coast. Ports of call include Port Elizabeth, known as “The Friendly City”, and for it’s animal sanctuary of Addo Elephant National Park – home to the densest population of elephants in the world. Then it’s on to the white-sand beaches and dunes of East London, diverse and enchanting Maputo with its Portuguese colonial-era architecture, Richards Bay – gateway to Zululand and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, home to the largest white rhino population on earth. Durban, South Africa is a city on the Indian Ocean where Zulu, Indian and European cultures thrive, then enjoy two leisure days at sea before arriving back in Cape Town, but it’s not over yet! You’ll have two nights in Cape Town with the ship as your hotel and plenty of time to explore the capital city, learn about its past and apartheid history and sip your way around the world-renowned Cape Winelands.

YOUR HOME AT SEA Azamara ships are not too big (you never feel lost). And they’re not too small (you won’t run out of new things to do and new people to meet). Azamara Journey’s guest capacity at just 690 is the perfect mid-sized ship. You’ll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the staff and crew get to know you. The smaller size of the ship also offers the big advantage of being able to sail to places larger cruise lines cannot.
Azamara Journey (and her sister ship, Azamara Quest) underwent major enhancements in 2016. A muted color palette of earth tones is incorporated throughout, to evoke a serene, elegant and warm sense of home. New spa suites feature rain showers with ocean views, double vanities, and outdoor soaking tubs overlooking the sea. New open-air venues and experiences have been introduced. A new outdoor Pool Grill & Bar, followed by dazzling nights in completely revitalized entertainment areas. In addition, a tasteful blend of contemporary and classic designs were integrated to create new venues and public spaces, implemented new technologies and upgraded every stateroom and suite, in addition to new restaurants and the new holistic Sanctum Spa.
