Mala Mala Game Reserve Safari

This special Corner 103 pre-cruise program is being offered strictly on a space available basis.

Join your fellow cruisers, a few days early for a thrilling safari experience with unrivaled game viewing in one of Africa's most renowned game reserves, Mala Mala!

Mala Mala Game Reserve consistently brings the most exciting wildlife experience this side of the equator! The oldest and largest private game reserve in South Africa stretches across 33,000 acres and shares a 12-mile unfenced border with Kruger National Park, home to the coveted "Big Five": lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant and Cape buffalo, as well as an array of other wild animals.

Every aspect of the Camp is designed for first class enjoyment of the surrounding wilds. Landscaped pathways wind their way along the perimeter of the camp to reveal individual ochre colored units tucked into the greenery which flanks the Sand River. Accommodations and social areas are truly stunning; outfitted with elegant furnishings and modern conveniences, and created to allow for undisturbed views of the incredible wildlife that roam freely throughout the reserve.

Game viewing is unparalleled at Mala Mala! Join the Camp's expert rangers on twice daily game drives every morning at first light and in the late afternoon/evening. Open 4-wheel drive vehicles equipped with state of the art radio communication allow rangers to stay in contact with each other and inform groups about the location of wildlife. They will safely guide you through the sights and sounds of the African bush and provide a once in a lifetime, close-up game viewing experience with endless photographic opportunities.

The Ultimate Bush Restaurant: Guests enjoy all-inclusive meals and rinks during their stay at Mala Mala. Breakfast and lunch are served daily on the outdoor deck overlooking the Sand River, or in the air conditioned dining room. Sumptuous dinners are served every evening amidst traditional surroundings. Dine around a blazing fire in the reed-enclosed boma (African structure) with the glorious, African night sky exposed above.

Day 2 & 3 - January 16 & 17, 2021 | Safari Drives [B, L, D]

Your days spent on safari can be as active or as relaxed as you wish. A typical day on safari stars with the rising of the sun where freshly made tea, coffee and muffins will be waiting for you. Afterwards, depart on an early morning game drive with your expert ranger guides. The best time of day to enjoy game viewing is in the early morning and late afternoon as most animals rest during the heat of the day.

Having spent the morning exploring the surrounding wilderness in search of hidden treasures, you will return to camp for a wonderful lunch. Just as the animals retreat to escape the head of mid-day, so will you. Afternoons are your time to enjoy reading, relaxing, chatting with your fellow travelers, or taking a nap.

Later in the afternoon you will head out into the wilderness once more as the animals awake from their days slumber and gather at the watering holes to quench their thirst. As the sun sets on the horizon, marvel at the sheer splendor of an African sunset and with refreshments in hand, toast to the wonder of nature.

Upon your return to camp, enjoy a dinner fit for royalty and served the against the magical backdrop of the African night sky. Retreating to the comfort of your room after enjoying a nightcap around the campfire, you can fall asleep to the calls of the African wild - the evocative 'oop-oop' of the hyena and the roar of a lion.
