Bryan Toy

A Virginia native, Bryan’s journey into winemaking started at just 18 years old. While spending summers with family in Corfu, Greece, he was put to exhausting work in the organic vineyards and farms they managed. Being fully immersed into the “older than old-world” style of winemaking, he learned that the greatest winemakers are indeed storytellers, charged with sharing the magic of each vintage with minimal intervention. He continued his oenologic journey in Virginia as the General Manager, Winemaker, and Vineyard Manager at Stone Tower Winery as they started their upward path to success. Armed with a degree in winemaking and viticulture from UC Davis, Bryan was propelled into a winemaking position with the prestigious Chilean biodynamic wine producer, Emiliana Vineyards, and subsequently with the epochal brand Caldwell Vineyard in Napa Valley, as their Director. Working in some of the world’s most renowned wine regions, Bryan’s focus has always been on sharing the story of each vintage in a setting of hospitality while creating memories with friends and customers. Bryan believes that the best winemakers are stewards of the bounty that Mother Nature provides, and he’s led customers and friends through countless wine trips abroad offering incredible experiences and unforgettable memories.

Currently, Bryan is the General Manager at Delaplane Cellars in Northern Virginia, and he is looking forward to guiding customers through the excitingly luxurious Romantic Coastlines cruise itinerary. When Bryan isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 1-year-old son and exploring the world’s top culinary and wine regions. Getting off the beaten path, learning other languages, experiencing foreign cultures, and discovering new foods are what fuel his passion for travel.
