Description of Baden's Pinot Paradise Shore Tour

This shore tour is currently on a waitlist status. For complete description and pricing contact Food & Wine Trails

With the Rhine River to its west and the densely forested hills of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) to its east, the Baden Wine Route, or Badische Weinstrasse is a 310 mile stretch of rolling hills and terraced vineyards located in the most southwestern part of Germany. This corner of Germany is considered to be the country’s Sunbelt, and is directly adjacent to France’s Alsace and in the rain shadow of the Vosges Mountains. The sunny days and cool nights permit the production of high-quality Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and also full-bodied examples of Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) and Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) usually expressed in an oaked styled.

Rombauer guests are offered a choice of three options (please refer to the complete tour descriptions emailed to you) Options 1 & 2 include a wine expert guide, winery tour & tasting, wine-paired lunch, visit to the charming village of Gengenbach. Option 3 includes a wine expert guide, two winery visits with tour & tastings and a wine-paired lunch at a family run hotel/restaurant.
