Artisanal Food & Wine Experience - Biale Vineyards

This shore tour is available to book for all confirmed group members. For a complete description and pricing, contact Food & Wine Trails.

The Punta Del Este Wine Experience begins as your guide drives you through the peninsula enroute to the beach town of La Barra. The scenery is beautiful along the coast as you pass through different neighborhoods along the promenade.

Today we spend the day at a charming winery nestled along the Río de la Plata (the river frontier dividing Argentina and Uruguay). The property is a cellar, farm, restaurant, and lodge all in one and is recognized as one of the most famous wineries in Uruguay. Today, the vineyards produce mostly Tannat (Uruguay’s flagship grape), but Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot, Viognier, and Syrah are also grown. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome glass of white wine, followed by a tour of the property including the original antique cellar and the limestone coated new cellar. Taste an estate rosé, accompanied by artisanal cheeses, salads and cured ham made at the property. The Chef will also prepare homemade empanadas (small pies) for you to enjoy, as well as a traditional Uruguayan Asado (BBQ) paired with hand selected red wines.
