One of the best kept secrets in the world of wine is Mallorca. The island represents the soul of Balearic viticulture, blending centuries-old tradition with a modern, sophisticated approach to winemaking that respects the land and its unique characteristics. Made from little-known native grapes, less than half of these wines make it off the island. Today you will have the pleasure of discovering these rare wines made by one of Mallorca’s top producers. The Can Araxtell estate is almost 800 years old and by the 16th century it was an important source of wine and olive oil for the island. Learn about its fascinating history as you are guided through vineyards, olive groves, and an aging cellar carved deep into the hillside of a former quarry. Taste expertly crafted red and white wines rarely found elsewhere, then sit down to a delectable wine-paired lunch at the winery. After lunch you’ll have some time explore Palma and its magnificent cathedral before heading back to the ship.
