Jocelyn Hoar

With an extensive background and profound expertise in the world of hospitality and wine, Jocelyn Hoar brings an abundance of knowledge and leadership to her role as General Manager at Elusa Winery. Originally from Northern California, Hoar discovered a deep love for Napa Valley and the hospitality industry at an early age.

After graduating from Santa Clara University, Hoar began her career in hospitality in San Francisco as Dining Room Manager at Michelin-starred The Village Pub, followed by positions a luxury hotel Campton Place Hotel and venerable SF restaurants Charles Nob Hill and Town Hall. In 2003, she earned her Advanced Certificate from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, followed by her sommelier certification a few years later.

Further pursuing her passion to work in the wine industry, Hoar secured her first job in Napa Valley in 2008 as Visitor Center Manager at Robert Mondavi Winery. During her time there, she was responsible for planning and executing events and programs to drive revenue and brand loyalty. Hoar went on to become Director of Hospitality at HALL Wines in St. Helena, where she oversaw all operations for the tasting room, tours, private experiences, events, business development, and more. Over the coming years, Hoar fine-tuned her direct-to-consumer and hospitality skills as Director of Sales & Hospitality at Treasury Wine Estates, and later, as Vice President of Direct-to-Consumer Sales & Hospitality at Cakebread Cellars. Prior to joining Elusa Winery, Hoar held the role of Direct-to-Consumer Sales & Strategy Consultant at JEH Associates LLC, where she led project management for the rebuild and relaunch of Sterling.

Hoar was thrilled to join Elusa Winery in February, 2022, a boutique winery by Thomas Rivers Brown featuring small lot wines and a world-class hospitality experience amid a 4.7-acre organic vineyard in Calistoga. As General Manager, Hoar plays an integral role in the winery’s daily operations, brand and sales strategy and the overall guest experience, and she is overjoyed to share Elusa’s distinctive wines with the world.
