Careful thought and planning has been put into this extraordinary program by the F&WT team, from the selection of the cruise itinerary, to the expert host, to the wine experiences onboard and ashore.
Our inaugural Sommelier’s Insider Series Wine Cruise kicks off in May of 2021 from London for 10 glorious days exploring the Atlantic Coast of France, visiting world renowned wine regions including Basque Country, Rioja, Bordeaux and more! This region is much more laid-back than the Med (but with almost as much sunshine), and is the perfect destination to slow the pace down, appreciate back-to-nature landscapes and the vine-striped hills showcasing the best of French wines.
When it came time to select an onboard group host and wine expert, the choice was clear – fan-favorite, sommelier and French wine expert, Kelly McAuliffe. As the only American Sommelier in France, Kelly is, in our opinion, the best wine educator available. Many of you have already had the pleasure of Kelly’s expert guidance, charming larger-than-life personality and of course his great story-telling during our private tours ashore. For those who have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Kelly, you are in for a very special treat. Kelly consistently receives rave reviews from our past guests and is often praised as the highlight of our exclusive land programs. Now you have the opportunity to enjoy his company not only on land, but also at sea for the entire cruise.
We have taken a great cruise and sent it over-the-top, not only with the addition of Kelly as your onboard host, but we’ve also added onboard wine programs like never seen before plus five new optional shore tours curated exclusively for this extraordinary cruise as a way to honor our valued past guests and at the same time invite new guests to discover what sets Food & Wine Trails apart from other wine travel programs. Of all the options out there for wine-themed travel, this is the one not to miss and here are a few reasons why…
• Best-of-the-best, onboard host and French Sommelier, Kelly McAuliffe • Food & Wine Trails NEW “Exploring England’s Sparkling Wines” optional 2-night pre-cruise Southern England land program • Five NEW bespoke wine-themed optional shore tours curated exclusively for this cruise • One included bespoke wine-themed shore tour (choice of Normandy or Brittany) for all Food & Wine Trails guests • New onboard private events including “50 Shades of Rosé” Welcome Reception; “Rockin Rhône” Wine Seminar; and “Hidden Treasures of France” Farewell Reception • “Valley of the Kings” wine-paired dinner • $100 Shipboard Credit per stateroom and pre-paid ship gratuities
