Dear prospective wine-cruiser

We are pleased to announce a new date and itinerary for the 2013 Tablas Creek cruise. This was necessitated by a change made by Azamara, but we are confident that you will find the new itinerary and pricing to be superior. This cruise is now one-day shorter (7-days instead of 8) so we have added the option to arrive into Barcelona early to visit the Penedes and Priorat wine regions – the latter being my favorite appellation in Europe! Enjoy and thank you.

Larry Martin, F&WT President

We are thrilled to invite you to join us in the summer 2013 on the first ever Tablas Creek-sponsored Mediterranean cruise.  This will be a seven-night cruise beginning in Barcelona and moving east through the French Riviera and the Mediterranean, with stops in Cannes, St. Tropez, and Marseilles, ending in Monte Carlo.  Our journey will take place on the 650-passenger Azamara Journey, recently rated by the 2012 Cruise Critic reader’s poll as the “Best” ship, and will be organized by the experts at Food & Wine Trails - rated for three consecutive years as the "World's Best Wine Travel Specialist" by the editors of Conde Nast Traveler.  Tablas Creek’s Executive Winemaker Neil Collins will lead the expedition.

The South of France offers one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines, and is home to many different Rhone varietals. So as you might expect, this cruise will allow you to combine the beauty of Provence and the French Riviera with different Rhone wines and the traditions and foods of the region. Neil will be hosting an onboard wine program, including a welcome reception, a multi-course winemaker dinner, and a seminar in which we will delve into the blending of our flagship Esprit de Beaucastel and Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc wines, and even get the opportunity to taste the individual varieties as components.

The visit’s highlight will be a visit to Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where Neil and members of the Perrin Family will welcome the group and show you through the vineyards and cellar of our wonderful sister estate.  We will conclude the visit with a lunch in Beaucastel’s gardens, prepared by their Michelin-starred chef Laurent Deconick and paired with wines from their cellars.

We hope that you will join us for what is sure to be a memorable experience.
