After the amazing time we’ve had on our past two wine and food adventures at sea, we couldn't wait to set sail again, but this time, it will be even better. I’m teaming up with our winemaker, Gustavo Gonzalez, and you will be among the first to taste Mira, his inaugural wine. Some of you may already know Gustavo because he’s hosted two fun-filled wine cruises as Winemaker for Robert Mondavi Winery.
Your Mediterranean Wine Odyssey with this dynamic duo begins in Rome and includes stunning ports of call such as Capri, Amalfi, Florence, Monte Carlo and Provence. It finishes, like a fine wine, in beautiful Barcelona.
This exotic voyage will be onboard Oceania Cruises’ newest ship - the Riviera. It’s been described as “a contender as one of the top luxury cruise ships of the world.” This magnificent ship was specifically designed for the wine and food lover, with six small gourmet restaurants and the industry’s first hands-on culinary center. Designer touches are everywhere, with oversized staterooms that feature luxury appointments such as marble bathrooms and full bathtubs.
Join Gustavo and “Armando” on their Excellent Wine Adventure for what is sure to be an experience of a lifetime. Teaming up with Gustavo is sure to make this a fun and memorable experience. We’ll host educational wine seminars, as well as a private winemaker’s dinner showcasing great Napa Valley wines paired with some of the finest cuisine at sea, overseen by Master Chef Jacques Pépin.
Gustavo’s extensive experience as a winemaker around the world (including Italy where he made a 100 point wine while at Ornellaia) and fluency in five languages will enrich our shore excursions, offering a unique perspective on the many ports of call - an experience unlike any other tour. Our small lot, single-vineyard wines reflect our ideology: The world’s most memorable wines are an expression of the place the grapes are grown. Once we identify the right vineyard source, we rely on our senses to capture the essence of that site in the bottle.

ABOUT MIRA WINERY
Mira Winery is my own project devoted to producing fine wines from premier Napa Valley vineyards. I bring my expertise in working with a spectrum of varieties to this unique venture that started with a bet – that I could produce a Syrah as good as the best Syrah’s from the Rhone Valley. Mira is a small winery that in addition to Syrah, produces Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Mira means 'extraordinary' in Latin and 'abundance' in Greek.
We believe wine is a story of the land and the place in which it grew. It’s the story of the people who coax it into being – of the sunshine, winds, and seasons that give it its personality. Wine is an invitation – to enjoyment, to the telling of tales, to the sharing of the stories and folklore that make us who we are.
