2010 Food & Wine Workshops in Tuscany
Tuscany, for all its fame, still eats according to the seasons and respects tradition in preparing food and wine.  These workshops focus on local specialties – pecorino cheese, truffles, porcini mushrooms, Chianina beef and pasta.  Stay in the Tuscan estate of food author and F&WT's Tuscany expert, Pamela, and spend a week with her as she takes you to meet a variety of artisan farmers and food purveyors.  Leave Tuscany as a newly crowned expert of one of Italy's most important regions.
The wine, food and a royal family of Sicily (October 2010)
10/04/2010 -10/10/2010
Alice Waters revolutionized American cuisine, and when she introduced us to her friends - the Tasca/Lanza family, a Sicilian Royal family who own great wineries, and a charming inn and cooking school, we knew that we had to organize a visit. So next year we will offer two ”no-more than 8 person” trips that will visit Sicily for six days on May 3 and Oct 4th. These are special trips because although Sicily is one of the great emerging food and wine regions of the Mediterranean, it is a reserved and old culture that is best seen with the help of a friendly and well-connected local; like Fabrizia Lanza, our trip hostess and guide. This trip spends time in both the countryside and the city, and includes charming hotels, most meals, many wine tastings and two cooking classes.
Piedmont & Slow Food's Salone del Gusto 2010
10/25/2010 -10/30/2010
"Truffles and Risotto" is held only one week each year, in the height of Italy's famous white truffle season. Enjoy visits to a twelfth-century Cistercian abbey where premium rice has been grown for centuries and take part in a cooking class and luncheon with a Contessa. Explore the charming cosmopolitan Torino and the quaint town of Alba. Experience the heady discovery of the fragrant white truffle while hunting in the woods. Some of Italy's best wines are from this region, to be sampled in a wine country visit to Barolo and Barbera.
